Hey guys, I’m a partner of almost 10 years next month stepping into a potential ASM role. I went through my first interview and it went well, just trying to get ready for my second. The hub is not helpful, so I’m coming to you guys! Can you help me out? All help is appreciated. 🖤

Do you mind telling me the pay for ASM? I’m at a different coffee shop with an upcoming possible promotion and I’m looking to get an idea of some numbers. Thank you so much!!

I'm not sure about US but I'm in Canada and I was offered around 41k (like 19ish/hour) back in 2018. I think I was offered a bit more due to previous supervisory experience at another business though.

Okay, gotcha! Thank you so much!!

I was offered 48k in 2019 in Seattle as an ASM!

Gotcha! Thank you!

Where I am in California, if a supervisor works 40 hours per week they make about 42k. I don’t think asm is much higher than that tho, my old one complained about that raise.

Gotcha, thank you so much!

Congrats! Here’s what I did for mine, granted this was 2019 before the career progression stuff changed. I started with a coffee tasting that was significant to me and kind of kicked off the about me part. Keep it simple but personal. Secondly, think about STAR format when you are answering. Take your time to answer and remember silence is okay! Even if they say you aren’t ready yet, ask for the feedback so you can be ready for your next shot. Message me if you have any questions! I’m happy to help ☺️

It’s mostly going to be Behavioral type questions. You can probably find some SM questions on the Hub, but I recommend google searching behavioral interview questions and practice with any that you find! A lot of DMs like to go off script and ask their own questions, so this will help you prepare. Have your best stories prepared and be ready to shape them to answer whatever question. Don’t be afraid to be venerable with your struggles but also tell how you over came. This is Starbucks and a corporation, talk up your partner care. Use the STAR model when sharing your stories, it helps a lot. And speak passionately. You can DM me if you want 💚

Awesome thanks! I’ve been studying and looking at the ops excellence guide for ss to sm and the LATTE model and STAR method. I’ll def check out behavioral questions for interviews tho. Interview tomorrow, gahh nervous but maybe ready? I’ll let ya know how it goes! 👍

Is your second interview with the DM? Or is it one of the SMs in the district?

It’s with 2 dms. One from my district and one from another district

Look up shift manager interview questions on hub. They’re very similar.
