The audacity of some people (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by lukegraham309
We still let people in to pick up mobile orders but didn’t let them order in cafe. Obviously. Regardless this woman came in and asked to order, we explained the situation. She immediately said she and her husband were out on a walk and didn’t have their car and for some reason didn’t have her phone but did have her Apple Watch.
So she asks if she can walk into drive thru and order at the window.

Multiple people obviously told her no so she leaves in a huff. It’s then that I notice as im clocking out she and husband are walking up the goddamn drive thru and right up to the window and try to place and order. We explain again she can’t do this and casually shut the door in her face. And she storms off probably making some threat or complaint but by god the audacity of some people!

If she *really* does not have her car or her phone (and it not obviously making it up), I honestly would just let her order or figure out a way to get her the drink. It's not worth aggravation.

Not letting her order on foot in the drive through is a matter of her safety. We all know cars come barreling through and aren’t paying attention. Making exceptions for one customer means making the same exception for all customers, so I’m with the partners in OP’s store for standing their ground.

That's not what I meant. I meant just taking the order when she was inside the cafe.

That’s what I was thinking. They could have ordered inside and then just waited outside for their drinks/food to be made.

We had someone try to do this yesterday and we ended up having to call the cops

One can only hope their absolute stupidity catches up to them someday soon and kills them off. 😑

Hopefully before they reproduce.
