Last day of markouts, can we use them? (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by greenbeanfridge
I heard our day off markouts ended Oct 4, today is the 4th, could I still go get my markouts?

I just went to get a coffee this morning and it worked for me

The new update started today so you shouldn’t have been able to :/
lagoddess25 10 points 1y ago
Yeah I even told the barista that served me but he said he hadn’t heard anything about that so idk 🤷🏻‍♀️
rio8envy7 7 points 1y ago
My guess they didn’t read the update
philosopher_cat_lady 4 points 1y ago
I have shift supervisors who don't read the updates
philosopher_cat_lady 3 points 1y ago
That's because he didn't read the Weekly Updates like he was supposed to

It will still work you are just now technically breaking policy. In theory you could mark out 100 food items in a row and it would work every time but you’d get fired pretty fast.

That’s what I thought, like how will they know when I am at work but I hope that barista that served me learns the new protocol. As for me when I work I am well aware of the new policy
philosopher_cat_lady 3 points 1y ago
It'll work, you're just not supposed to do it

Thank you!

Today you are supposed to get your beverage and food mark outs only at a store where you work, on a day when you have a shift. You can have 7 food items a week and unlimited beverages before, during and after a shift at your home store (or a store where you’re working) only. If you go to a store where you are not working, then you can only get your discount on food and beverages but you can still get your coffee bean mark out. Is that clear as mud?

To make it even more confusing, you can take all 7 of your weekly food items on your first shift of the week but if you do, you have to do it in 7 separate transactions on the POS because it’s only programmed to allow one food mark out per transaction

For real I can do 7 food in a day during working ?
FfierceLaw 1 points 1y ago
Yes but if you do, no more until the next work week
CHEAHAEHC 2 points 1y ago
Going to do it tomorrow!
CHEAHAEHC 1 points 1y ago
Do you have the link policy
FfierceLaw 1 points 1y ago
Sorry, it's in a weekly update from September, I think. Your SM should be printing them out and making everyone in your store sign a chart in the BOH to verify they have read it every week. For me to share it on here would be a violation of company policy for sharing internal communications on social media. However, i did Google it and found $1 about the change and the reaction to it. You should tell your SM to get you a copy of the weekly updates so that you can be in the know too!

What if you only work two days a week. Can you get 7 foods ?
FfierceLaw 1 points 1y ago
The update says you can have one for every day of the week marked out on a day that you work, so if you have two shifts in a week you can mark out all seven one one day or split it up

Markouts change today. Update said October 4th. It didn't say through October 4th. You probably won't get in trouble because it just changed today, but it's technically already in effect.

The benefit will still allow drinks to be rang up as free, it’s on the partner to make sure you aren’t receiving free drinks when you’re not supposed to. Four people at my old store (a barista, 2 SSVs, and the Manager) all were separated over misusing the policy.
