Airport Baristas - you are the real MVPs (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by Magnhild94
Just flew through Nashville and the line was never ending out the door and I can only imagine it’s always like that with harried travelers. You are next level. Fight on!

Not only that, but they probably don't get to connect and have "regulars" very often, which garners my respect on a totally different level.

Regular flight crew and airport staff I bet :)
sailorgrumpycat 11 points 1y ago
I would hope so, which is why i said very often, it would just be more difficult because of how flight crews travel.

I didn’t even think of that. That made me sad :(

I worked at one at my local airport and my regulars were the pilots and grounds crew for that concourse! It was pretty cool
sailorgrumpycat 5 points 1y ago
That actually does sound kind of cool, and its good to hear that you still had regulars, because seeing regulars is a super big part of morale imo working for the siren.

As someone who works at an airport store thank you 💕 any other HMSHost ppl here?
alyinthehouse 5 points 1y ago
Hello fellow HMSHost barista 👋 used to work at airport for 2 years, now work at an outlet centre. Still HMSHost though!

My boyfriend just got a job at HMSHost and he already wants to quit before training is over.

I wonder if they get the benefits that corporate stores get since a target starbucks partner doesn’t get any of starbucks benefits
sailorgrumpycat 9 points 1y ago
They technically don't, which is why corporate partners can't get their markouts or free food/drinks (which is now over anyways) there. Airport Starbucks employees would technically be a part of the airport.

I worked at a Starbucks at my local airport and all food places you see at any airport in the US is ran by a company called HMS host. Our benefits were all under them

I was at the dfw airport last week and pretty all the Starbucks were closed, anyone know why?
RayBun4 2 points 1y ago
I flew from there back in July, I assumed it was because we were in full swing of product outages. Only saw one open near my gate in C terminal and figured it's easier on them to have less stores open.

I flew recently (Philly to Cleveland, with a layover in DC on my way home) and all the Starbucks I happened across were closed, even though my flights were in the middle of the day. My leaving home flight was at like 11:45 and they were already long since closed. No idea what that was about. Just a thing that airport Starbucks locations have crap hours I guess.
