macchiatos have 1 less pump. flat whites and shaken espressos get 1 extra shot. americanos are completely unusual at 1/2/3/4 shots.

frapps are 2/3/4 on just about every pump/scoop

some recipes distinguish between full dose and half dose pump

I think of it as stairs.

in other words, standard hot bar drinks get one additional pump than cold bar
