i see so many barista complaining about it but what actually changed??

i believe it's one drink at a time while you're working (unlimited though) and a free food item and then 7 food mark outs per week that you need to get from your home store. i could be wrong though, someone please don't hesitate to correct me if i am!

I was told that it was because they wanted their employees to have some food security. Drinks off the clock are going to be discounted instead of free, but they thought food was important to keep free.
edit: Disclaimer, i'm new, so for all I know maybe they gave unlimited markouts before lol. But that was the explanation I was given yesterday

Free drinks (company policy states you can only mark out one at a time. I only know because my district cracked down on this rule.) 30 minutes before/after and during your shift. That never changed.
The food markout used to be only 1 markout per shift but nothing on your day off. New policy is you get 7 markouts a week and if you’re off the next day you can get a markout for that day before you leave. Free drinks and food markouts can only be used at your store otherwise you use your discount at other stores.
