I am finally quitting tomorrow, I have two questions. (self.starbucksbaristas)

After 9 months I am finally putting in my two week notice. I work this job, my internship, and attend university full time. I am burnt out. I am stressed and do not have time for myself. Every chance I get I fall asleep. I hate working at starbucks, it is too stressful and for making coffee? I thought starbucks would be a cool job but, na its not. So, here is where I am conflicted. Tomorrow I am for sure putting in my two week notice. I open tomorrow so as soon as I walk in the store I am dropping my notice on my manager's desk and then finish my shift. Should I text my store manager that I have put my two week notice on his desk. Second question, I see that he has made the schedule for two weeks in advance. He has me scheduled for 4 days; Monday, Tuesday (I open) and then saturday and sunday. My last day will be Oct. 19 a tuesday, should I be the nice person and work the weekends even though my last day will Oct. 19. I don't want to tbh and i am letting him know two weeks in advanced that my last is tuesday. So, should I not show up?

Anything past 2 week is your SM problem. To be nice yes text your sm. Legally you're not even obligated to give a notice but it's professional thing to do

I didn't text him or talk to him about it. I just left the note on his desk and he saw it and dodged me for my entire shift. Even if he schedules beyond the 19th i aint showing up.

That is funny. The only thing I worry is what if I need a job again but working at starbucks is so mentally exhausting that I never want to go back.

You don’t have to work those two weeks but it’s the professional thing to do. Personally I would just so I’m not leaving them even more short staffed plus you get paid/tips for those hours. I would also text your Sm and say something along the lines of “ I wanted to let you know that I put my 2 weeks notice on your desk and then whatever you decide about working those days.

If you’re an opener it’s going to make things even harder for them. It’s not like a mid shift where there are more than 2 or 3 people and shifts can’t open alone. Especially with having barista 1 and barista 2 tasks. Yes it’s your managers responsibility to find coverage yes but it’s not a very desirable shift. At the end of the day I can’t tell you what to do but it’s just my personal opinion and what I would do if I were in that situation.

So the Saturday and Sunday shifts aren’t opening shifts they are afternoon shifts like 4.5 hours and the other is 6 hours. I made an agreement with him that I would weekends and only open Monday or Tuesday when there is an emergency know I made sure on my notice that my last day is Oct. 19. So is it wrong if I don’t show up for those weekends shifts. Of course I’m showing up for my opening shifts. I also know he saw my notice today my shift told me but I didn’t get the chance to talk to him cause right after my shift ended I had to leave for my internship.
