yo so I’m a new shift that doesn’t like to be a shift because certain team members walk over me and they tell the team to do different things than I say and treat me like I’m dumb as ✨shittt✨ (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by darthtinmay
all the other shifts told me becoming a shift is awesome. The original shifts from my store all wanted me to become one and they all talked to our SM about it. We got some new team members after that and one specifically used to be a shift at their old store but is only a barista at ours. They didn’t want to be a shift. But they’re the one that’s always giving me a hard time and treats me like a dumbass. It’s super discouraging but whatever. It be like that sometimes

Tell your SM this is happening. This exact situation is called out as an example of when to issue a corrective action in the corrective action guide on partner hub.

Yes. 100%. Although I would personally address them directly, first. Sternly, but professionally.
"NAME, if you're having problems with how I run my shifts, then please tell me so we can discuss any issues and see how we can resolve them. Otherwise, it does no one in this store any good to undermine me, and if you continue to do so instead of working with me to break through any problems, then we will move on to disciplinary action."

Something of the sort. But as you are a supervisor, you need to take it upon yourself first to handle the situation before involving the next level of management. Else you lose the respect of your partners and manager for essentially "running to mommy/daddy."

If you have already spoken to the barista, however, then by all means, go to the next step.
