This keeps happening! I always charge for a custom iced tea because teenagers have been making tiktoks about it.

I'ma play devil's advocate and just say charge them for the strawberries. Charging for a custom Tea makes no sense to me. There is no tea. You don't charge people extra for getting like 5 extra scoops of strawberries in a strawberry refresher so why would it be different here?. If they want matcha in water, then that's a custom Tea. If you ring up a water and add strawberries it still charges them something.

You are supposed to charge them for a custom iced tea because Starbucks does not like just charging for ingredients, add ins and modifications are priced based on the idea that they are being added into a purchased drink, not free water.

If I recall correctly, there was a note in a weekly update that specifically said it should be charged as a custom tea. I think it’s ridiculous as well, but I also think it’s ridiculous that I tell customers that what we have to charge them and they say “ok”. You can literally by an entire bag of freeze dried strawberries at the store for what you pay for a custom tea with a single scoop.

Do you know a time frame? I'm not seeing anything saying that.
