The biggest piece of advice I can give you is dont be afraid to ask questions!!! I would much rather a green bean ask me how to make things than them just going “eh, that should be good enough” and throwing a bunch of stuff into a cup (always swirl your thick sauces!!!!! please i beg you 🥺). Don’t be afraid to speak up and say “hey, I’m feeling overwhelmed—can I get a break from this position?” because even a year in the simplest positions, such as drive thru or front, can still be overwhelming to deal with on bad days.
I get on here and rant about how I hate my job, but being a barista was always something I wanted to be even as a kid. Days where I can just move at my own pace and have a good time with my friends at work are the days that make me stay. I wish I had more of them.

I’ve worked at 2 stores so far and both of them have been way better than my past food service jobs. like other have said it definitely depends on the store, the partners, and the manager. but if you’re getting good vibes then definitely go in with positive thoughts!!
one thing I wasn’t ready for was how long it would take for everything to fully “click.” it took a lot longer than other jobs to feel like I understood everything and was confident in doing my job. but all of the older partners were new at one point too, so they should be understanding that you’re learning!

Welcome aboard!
I honestly feel like a majority of the negative posts come from partners who unfortunately don't have a good team, and from difficult customers. But if your team is great, the latter won't bother you as much. Sounds like you're off to a great start with your team!
First thing's first: this has been an invaluable resource for me:
https://www.reddit.com/r/starbucks/comments/p1ik3o/the_last_infographics_i_will_ever_post_leaving/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share
Be sure to scroll down to the OP's link to their Google Drive, though. The infographic there was updated to correct a few errors. Don't use the one uploaded to Reddit. This document can be a REALLY helpful study guide, especially for the bar.
I'm brand new, too. A little more than a month in. But so far I'm loving it here. Especially after my last job as a cashier at a grocery store. The customers there were just the worst. And my coworkers, while most of them were great, just had a few who also hated being there and their moods were contagious.
But like you, I have a great team and an awesome SM. So things have been really positive for me. Don't be afraid to ask all the questions you need to! Lean on your partners for support! And of course, feel free to ask around here for additional help!
