was definitely in a similar boat a few months ago!! my main reason for not wanting to accept the position was because i’d miss bar lol. as a ssv now, the majority of my shifts are covering for those who need lunches/breaks. typically we have two lunches on bar, so i end up getting in an hour near peak (which is the fun of it all!). depending on how busy your store is, you may even end up on bar often as extra hands. having partners who usually hold down other positions or even just green beans training on hot bar then switching them over to cbs so you can step in when it gets busy happens a lot!! also having a former ✨bar star ✨as a shift helps because you know exactly how they need to be supported and can make the right calls. i’d say give it a shot, past the point where you’re worried about forgetting what tasks you’ll need to do as a shift, then see if it allows you a good place to juggle barring and delegating. it’ll take some time, but if it works out it’s definitely worth it!! best wishes
