How to tell if a store is actually Starbucks or just licensed(self.starbucksbaristas)

I am looking at locations to transfer to and I found one that’s super close to our new apartment but I cannot tell if its a licensed store or an actual Starbucks.

If its got its own building or a single unit in a strip mall, it's corporate. Mall locations may or may not be depending on your location, so you have to ask. Grocery store, casino, college, event venue, and hotel cafés are licensed.

I would have thought the same until I visited Mackinaw City & Mackinac Island, one is free standing, the other is a store front with other business, similar to the Pike's Place store. Both are licensed.
I figured they were when I saw their registers, but confirmed after asking.

General rule of thumb: if you walk inside another store to get to the Starbucks, then it’s probably licensed. Also in the Starbuck’s app, stores listed that state, “Order ahead not available” are most likely licensed.

Generally, yes, but not always. There’s one in my state that seriously fooled me for months before I re-joined the Siren, tried to use my numbers there, and was told they’re licensed. They have mobile order and are in their own space.
Honestly, I’d recommend just calling the store that OP likes and just asking.

Do you remember the website that had your online application? You can search by location and view all the corporate stores that way

Easiest way I've found: Try to place a mobile order (but don't actually send it through, just go to the checkout screen) if you get your partner discount there (assuming you have your partner numbers bound to your Starbucks account), then it's a corporate store. Otherwise it's licensed.
