Absolutely can’t stand when managers walk around saying “now you know not to discuss your pay with anyone, correct?”…this only serves the companies purpose. To the best of my knowledge it is not illegal or unethical in any way at all. My rate as a Shift in SoCal is $19.86.

For crying out loud, we're nearly 3 times the cost of the lowest state, and even almost double the average cost. We're even 1/4 higher than the next lowest state. And yet, from what I've seen around here, we have one of, if not the lowest pay.

I'm seriously starting to get annoyed by this. I don't quite get how companies justify this. It is the norm - not the exception - that many families out here have household heads that work 2 or even 3 jobs just to make it.

I got hired on as an SSV, about 3 months ago and I make $23.03 in MA. I’m pretty sure I’m the highest paid supervisor in my store. I know wages can vary by state and experience but I see some of your wages and my heart hurts for you. We deal with so much bullshit. It should be more even across the board

I'm a barista in rural Texas and I was at 10.45 and now I make 12.00. Im a two year Partner and im making the same amount as a new hire. What makes it worse is that I was in Austin making 11, then I became a shift and was making 14.97, but I had to move so I transferred. My new SM told me I wouldn't be a shift, I'd be a barista, but I'd still be getting more than a normal barista because of my experience. That didn't happen and I'm working on my resume and am about to start sending it out.

I just got a raise to 12.00 OCT 4, I think? Because I thought being there for 2 years, I would get an extra 5%. Basically, I have to wait until I get my check to know for sure. They have also raised starting pay to 12.00, so basically I will get the same pay as a green bean. I'm salty about it.

Annoyingly, a partner hired less than a month ago told me yesterday that his rate with the raise is $16.29, and my SM refuses to explain how that’s fair because “you shouldn’t tell each other your pay rates.” Fuck that attitude.

Edit: My SM came back to me a little bit ago and told me that she read the wrong number when she gave me my raise information, my actual new rate is $16.57.

two year barista currently in massachusetts, i think the recent raise put me at $16.40. i was also recently told by my DM that my store base pay is higher because of the sheer number of violent incidents that happen in our store.

I'm a barista of..I think 4 months now in michigan. I got hirednin at $10.50 ish but almost immediately got that company wide raise and get $12. I'm not sure how much I am getting right now after the benefits removal n all that but I think I'll find out after my next check. I'm lucky enough that I'm a minor and still live with my parents so I don't have to worry about if it's a livable wage or not but I feel like for the high stress of the job it isn't that much. Especially for those who do own houses and have families to feed and such.

As a 3+ year partner (according to differentiation) SSV in Louisiana I’m now making $15.39/hour. I also give a solid portion of what I make towards retirement..I don’t have enough to live off of after bills. Surviving on $100 for two weeks is infeasible.

Were they supposed to talk to us and tell us we got a raise or how would I know if I got a raise or not?

I’m a supervisor in Minneapolis. I went from $18.97 to $20.07 as of October 4. For reference, when I started as a beanie-greenie in August ‘17, I made $11.55. I hate to say it, but they did me good (however it’s still not totally secure income in a city, esp. when I’m paying off student loans and saving to buy a house and start a family in the next couple years). I pray for the suburban stores bc y’all get f***ed when it comes to wages.

4 year partner this past March, SSV now making 15.39. My pay right before this was 12.83- and before that it was literally 11.16. So I’ve gotten a $4+ raise in a year- lol and could still make this much if I applied at target or most other retailers tomorrow

Franchise in the UK: we just got a pay rise to bring us to £9.50 an hour as we have a petrol station across the way from us (also owned by the franchise). SSVs just went up to £10 per hour. A whole 45p extra for baristas, 50p more for SSVs

I’m a 285 and about to turn 2yrs on the coming January 6th. I started at 9.50 and then got a raise last October to 10.45 or so. With the new pay rate, barista will be paid 14$/hr and SSV 17$/hr. I used to make 15.52 in Montgomery County MD now in nondescript North Carolina I make 10.00 on the dot and was very disappointed when I transferred and saw my new payrate. Like I worked harder and got better at my job only to be paid less and work harder than I did at my previous store.
