I’m on my practice shift 3 for SSV training. And I feel so slow, opened 5 minutes late. How do you speed up? Also- I’ll be a mid SSVmostly. Tips for that shift?

Thank you ahead of time

Think through everything that you can get started that doesn't require your attention afterward for a while. Capitalize on all of that and have them working while you do other things. I'll assume you just have 2-part opens, but if you have a 3rd partner, this will be easier.

Wake up the espresso machines and fill the beans.
Start iced coffee and iced tea brewing.
Set the safe. You now have 2 minutes to get fridge temps.
Count the safe, pull out tills.
Tea timer is probably going off now. Finish iced teas and iced coffee.
Start Pike brewing.
Count tills, and put them in drawers.
As soon as Pike is done, Start dark and blonde. Set 20 min timer for this round, since you are essentially brewing blonde early.
Pull test shots on the espresso machines.
Grab red buckets while the shots pull, wipe down the ice machine, turn on Hobart while you're back there.

You can unlock the doors now and finish up stragglers tasks like milk count and putting out RTDE food afterward.

With practice, that takes me about 25 mins to unlock the doors.

ETA: wow, each of those instructions was on its own line when I typed it up. Sorry for the text block.
