One of my coworkers had a time where our espresso machine was down and we couldn't make any drinks. So he was explaining to this guy that they couldn't make white mocha latte for him. He deadass goes "I've been coming to Starbucks for 7 years. There's no espresso in a white mocha."

Soooo, steamed milk?

It confuses people that we call our chocolate sauce, mocha. Mocha implies coffee. The sauce has no coffee in it, it’s the sauce we use to MAKE mochas, but it’s just chocolate. Should just be called Chocolate Sauce. Because that’s what it is.

Not too bad. Maybe it was for a kid, so they got them just steamed milk with whipped cream. Might not have knows about steamers lol

Poor thing. I understand why they’re doing this: Ever since they took out the vanilla, the mocha by itself started tasting too ‘gritty’, almost like beans. I know now after working that it’s just because it’s powder based. It took actually working there to figure out that the mocha sauce itself wasn’t so much the problem as not being paired with the vanilla anymore to cover up the powdery taste. But I can see why a customer would just assume that it’s coffee they’re tasting.

We had a syrup creme frap with no syrup and no whip. Two different baristas had to ask if they were serious.

Luckily she didn’t ask for “extra chocolate” then yell at you through the DT after seeing extra mocha because “dOnT yOu KnOw mOcHa iS cOfFeE??”

Side note. Does a mocha taste good using chocolate malt powder instead of the syrups?
