It depends on the state. The state of Texas will not pay out your vacation hours.

Sounds like it’s time to take an impromptu but very important “trip” somewhere.
ETA: This is definitely a state by state thing. I’ve been lump sum paid out for various accrued time.

Yes you get paid for vacation but you lose the sick hours

It does vary by state according to state laws, but I believe this is the most common answer.
