I’m interviewing to become a shift lead 😬(self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by Mnmpringles
I’ve been a partner for a little over two years, became a trainer a little while ago, and now I have an interview with my SM to be a shift lead. This is something that I’ve thought long and hard about and decided I wanted to go for it. So my questions are: Does anyone have any tips for interviewing for this position? And what do you all think makes a good supervisor (other than good communication and time management)?

My personal view on what makes a great manager/supervisor, above anything else, is good employee relations. Everything else comes second because pretty much all of it can easily be learned or developed. But being able to effectively manage your employees while being conscious of their needs on the job takes more effort and a certain personality type.
Good luck on your interview!
