“Extra caramel drizzle” (self.starbucksbaristas)

So what’s your standard when somebody asks for extra caramel drizzle? At my store the expectation is that we literally put drizzle all around the cup, like dripping down the walls. It really annoys me because it’s not an extra charge and I’m almost certain it doesn’t change the taste in any meaningful way but people still request it (probably because it’s not more expensive) constantly and expect it done exactly that way, but I’m not sure it’s Starbucks standard.

I agree it can be annoying, but starbucks can certainly afford it. I don’t think there’s really a set standard for it.

I make little ribbons on the walls and double the crosshatch on top, but unless they do the overly dramatic "EXTRA EXTRA EXTRA EXTRAAAAAAA" caramel bullshit on DTO I don't do the coat-the-cup thing. I think it sets up future baristas for remakes because, as you said, now the customer thinks that should happen every time. Also I wonder why these people bother ordering other flavors in their drink; when you're sucking up an assload of caramel in your straw with every sip, I don't think you can really taste the beverage itself. Maybe that's just me.

Unless they specifically ask for walls, we just add more to the top.
