I'm not a software developer, but I feel like it'd be pretty trivial to have the modifications sorted, but instead they're just... not. The app really is the minimum viable product.

I really wish corporate would simply organize the stickers in the order we sequence and things would be so much easier. Still annoying but you don’t have to spend so much time reading the sticker. Why is Ristretto, Blonde and Quad all around the sticker when they should be together and the milk should be first since that’s what you’re gonna start with to steam like ugh

Imagine if your nurse says that your condition is too complicated and they’re going to treat you wrong or if the cashier says you have too many items and they’re going to mischarge you 💀💀
Sure it sucks to make drinks that are complicated but it’s really not that bad compared to other work you could be doing. It’s not the end of the world if someone wants their drink customized… these are problems in EVERY field. - cashiers get customers with hundred+ item orders - nurses get patients with 10+ underlying conditions IN ADDITION to a chief complaint - fast food workers get customers ordering the whole dang menu at once
You can’t pretend like you are always the easiest customer any given worker has ever taken care of. You like what you like, and it’s not a problem unique to Starbucks. The difference is the mindset that you deserve to only do the easiest job possible

I WISH they would program the drink modification to match how we used to mark cups. Not necessarily in codes (tho I do miss them) but in the order that we understand. It was drilled into my brain to process the cup from top to bottom and now I have to actually sit there and decode how I’d make a drink. Pure chaos. I actually sit there and sigh because I have to constantly stop to read stuff like this.

If I'm being honest I already do that. There are insane mobiles where I look at multiple contradictory modifications and say "no, I don't think I will." I've literally never gotten a complaint over not putting three cold foams on a hot drink. These people are just fucking pushing buttons.

Hehehehe. I actually looked into a software dev job at Starbucks HQ. They literally don’t pay crap, especially for the Seattle area. I don’t think Starbucks cares and the API is very simple but … it’s gotten ‘better’ security wise. If anyone wanted to put the effort, it wouldn’t be impossible to hack. I’m not a hacker but the QR could change dynamically.
