i have an issue with my trainer. i’ve been working here for more than nine months, so i’m not exactly new. she’s about eight months older than i am but i’m a grade above her abs she’s been working here for about a year and a half. anyways.

she treats me like an idiot that started two weeks ago. she’ll be doing solo drive through (with like three cars in line) while i’m on solo bar. each of these cars has three+ drink orders. she’s on her phone after taking payments and i’m working with one espresso machine.

“you wanna hurry it up bud?”

i turned to her and just glared. i have at least twelve drinks to make, 10+ shots to pull and at least three different fraps.

she has no right to treat me this way and i’m not stupid. but i can’t say anything bc she’s all buddy buddy with our manager.

i’m a dude with a high(er) voice. a late bloomer, whatever you want to call it. she has a habit of calling me she? i’m not even trans and i’m just a bit,, hurt? uncomfy?? idk, i’m already demasculinised just by being shorter and having a higher voice, not liking sports and stuff, and she just throws me under the bus by implying i’m a girl.

update: i talked to her and she said it wasn’t out of malicious intent. i kindly asked her to just think about how she talks to me in the future. if it doesn’t get better than i’ll go to my manager.

This is really messed up, I'm so sorry. Have you tried bringing it up with the manager, even if those two are buddy-buddy? Because if you have and the manager has brushed you off, you can then take it a step higher and let the DM know your manager hasn't taken any steps to address the problem. I'd start keeping a record of what the person does, your conversations with your manager if you've had them, etc. so you can show the DM you've tried to resolve the issue and aren't being helped.

(Also, coming from a trans guy: trans or not, misgendering people is Not Good ™️. And I wanted to also assure you that neither your height or voice determine how much of a man you are, you *are* man enough regardless of what they say. 💙)

Whaaaaat the fuuuuuck. I would absolutely bring your concerns up with both her and your manager and start documenting things. Misgendering you is harassment.

if you don’t feel comfortable talking to the sm , get in contact with the dm . if i’m in solo bar and there’s a bunch of drinks , i get cs to come help me out . and if they’re not available , i get the person in dt to wash their hands and help me top off those drinks instead of them not doing anything . also , the misgendering isn’t cool . i would definitely bring it up to the sm . i’m sorry about that bestie , i send you virtual hugs <3

Call partner resources and say you’re not comfy talking to your manager about this because they show favoritism for this person and that you don’t know your DM well enough yet to trust them.

Once I called just because the vibes were off at my store and they still did a full investigation and helped a bit
