Any tips for keeping the bar clean?(self.starbucksbaristas)

I struggle with keeping the bar clean especially when drive thru orders start to stack with all different drink types. Any advice?

When the cups start to slide across the counter on their own, it’s time to wipe it down. That’s as clean as I can manage during a rush.

don’t tell but i hide a rag under the espresso machine and do quick wipe downs when i’m waiting for milk or waiting for shots

Used to do this too! It's harder to conceal with the new machines though :(

Try not to clutter your bar. Put away nondairys and even nonfat as soon as your done with it. It takes approx 2 seconds to reach in the fridge and get it back out so it shouldn’t slow you down. The only milk I keep out during rush is 2%, that way there’s more room on my counter to work/line up cups, and it’s quicker to wipe down because everything’s already put away. Always do a wipe down before you leave bar (for a break or switching positions, etc) so the person coming on bar has a clean bar to start with

Work and clean simultaneously or ask CS person to help you more during peak or busy times or have a support barista help you out if you get overwhelmed and cant clean and work at the same time…or if u have another barista who is messy too a support or CS wouldnt hurt :)
