Once i dumped a venti hot mocha into the ice bucket i had just filled

idk about first but the most memorable was the venti hot mocha. all over my hands, all down my apron, soaked into my pants. HOT. also one time dropped an entire pitcher of white tea whilst subbing at a different store in the middle of peak

an entire cube of sweet cream (i know it’s not a drink but the customers seem to think it is) right after my ASM mopped…

Three venti iced wms. All within the same hour. Dome lid wouldn’t go on, I just couldn’t do it right

i spilled a WHOLE ENTIRE PITCHER of green tea when there was like 50 people in the lobby during morning peak

My last shift I spilled a trenta no water iced passion tea. Looked like I committed a bloody murder and I had to brew another passion tea during peak :<

I was shaking a brown sugar shaking espresso and the lid just popped off. It spilled all over my face and neck. I literally just wanted to cry. I always spill stuff especially because I’m so clumsy. My supervisor already knows it’s me when I say “OH NO” 😃🤚🏼

Once spilled a whole venti americano down my hand trying to pick it up from the hot water tap. Hand looked like Zukos face for a solid month.

Wasn’t on the floor but I spilled part of a caramel frappe today on the frappe counter

i never spilled an entire drink (yet) but i was trying to put on a lid for a honey citrust mint tea, it slipped, and i spilled a quarter of it all over my hands :)

chai while i was making a new container. so sad and sticky, but one of my partners told me “congrats, you’re officially a barista!”

Was handing a drink carrier through the window and it proceeded to fold in half, causing 3 venti custom drinks the fall to the curb:))

The first thing I spilled was the entire thing of pumpkin syrup :) I was cleaning bar and knocked it. Turned the mop water orange instead of the usual brown. Was very spooky.

I spilled a trenta black cold brew (not the whole thing, but I knocked it over) and my old manager screamed at me on the floor in front of everyone else. Over a black cold brew.

Not the same but I spilled the first venti americano I ever made all on the back of my hand. Not the worst burn I’ve acquired at the bux lol

The worst part was that I dropped it the first time I met my SM-to-be while I was trying to transfer to his store (the transfer went through but I would’ve preferred a better first impression) :/

Dark chocolate iced latte. That powder wouldn’t dissolve worth a damn in the drink, so it was horrendous to try and clean off the counter, floor and myself. And the customer was standing at the pick up plane, too.

First time ever on bar during peak. This absolute bitch of a customer was staring me down while I made her drink, correcting me at every turn. "Are you sure those were full pumps?" "Extra hot right??" "You should leave an inch of room so there's room for the whipped cream." I went to add the whipped cream to her mocha, and I bet you all can guess what happened. The nozzle was too close and it sprayed everywhere, and I jumped back, somehow knocking it all over myself. WITH THE ALREADY ANNOYED CUSTOMER STARING AT ME. She throws her hands up and rolls her eyes. I just picked up the empty cup and numbly turned to my bar support and said "I need this remade." And then went to the bathroom and sobbed.

I wish I made this up.

In addition to spilled drinks, something that I am frequently a victim of is shaking the nondairy milks and not realizing that the caps aren’t completely on and then accidentally getting coconut or almond milk everywhere. It’s happened many times and I know it hasn’t been the last time.

I made the most beautiful flat white one day, didn’t realize there was tea on the ground and I slipped, feet flew out in front of me, fell right onto my back and the flat white poured all over me….right in the middle of the morning rush, right in front of soo many customers (this was pre covid) ….the fall hurt, the flat white burned, but the embarrassment hurt the most.

My first training shift I put the honey cold foam on 1 and it got all over me :)

Not sure about the first, but once I had an entire pitcher of passion tea fall on me :-)

i was in a rush on my first day on bar and spilt an entire mocha cookie crumble. it was everywhere! on me, on the floor, on my shift. awful day

story time. i was opening for my kiosk, so i’d been there since 5:30am. i had help come in at 8am but our kiosk has been so understaffed and overworked (all of the corporate stores in the area had limited hours) that the only training she had was how to use the register. so, until 11am when we had somebody else come in, i was making drinks by myself. on a saturday morning. and we were the only open starbucks in the entire area.

i ended up spilling an entire pumpkin spice latte on our handoff area and an entire iced white mocha on the floor by our cold bar. i didn’t get a break until 7 hours into my shift. after that shift i went home and took the hardest nap of my life. pain™️

One time while trying to wrestle a dome lid on a venti iced white mocha I literally just obliterated the whole thing and it went absolutely everywhere

I don’t remember what kind of frap it was, but during a late afternoon rush I had JUST finished a frappuccino and put it at the end of the counter (not at the pick up counter but close to it), and no more than 60 seconds later, my shift goes to put another drink next to it, and my frap immediately fell over onto the floor. I *think* it was a caramel crunch or just a regular caramel but this was months and months ago so I truly don’t remember. But me and my shift had a really good laugh about it, luckily for me she was a VERY laid back kind of shift and she didn’t even really care that it happened during a rush. She felt bad because I had just finished it but I just thought it was hilarious because we had just started to get busy. We were cracking up about it for a good ten minutes 😂

Accidentally knocked over a brand new, very full, container of freshly-made mocha in the middle of peak once. Also--many of us have made rivers of cold brew by accidentally leaving the tap open on the toddy brewer while pouring water in without realizing until it was too late. I also accidentally threw a vanilla bean frappuccino at my coworker once (missed catching the blender pitcher and it went all over her and the floor 😅). Edit to add: bar-slid an iced caramel macchiato right off the hand-off plane a couple weeks ago lol

Venti cold brew. I forgot it was still going while I was making other drinks and it spilled all over the counter and got onto the floor while the thing was still overflowing the cup lol

I dropped a whole bottle of classic syrup. I was refilling the bottle and I didn’t see the wet floor sign, I slipped and it went everywhere. My apron was drenched as was the floor.

The floor was gross and sticky.

I’ve dropped a pumpkin cream cold brew then also spilled the cold foam all over my apron when I was remaking it … 😭

Went to get a gallon of 2% from the back during rush and I dropped it and popped in the floor. My day was already shut. Went to get the mop and the two parts weren’t connected and then all the loo water fell on the floor. She’d a few tears as I now had two messes to clean lolol.

Me and another newbie were putting cubes of cold brew into the fridges and didn’t notice one of the shelves didn’t have all of its supports. Set two cubes in before the shelf collapsed and from the back I heard WHOOOOOOSH and the other newbie go “oh no.”

Few months ago, I spilled two Venti Strawberry acai’s into the ice bin during peak… on the bright side, I also fell…

I don’t remember the drink, but I will always remember spilling a whole mocha backup that my sleeve caught on and it shot up all over the walls and got in my eyeball….and a few customers that were in the cafe got to witness it too. I literally bolted to the back, didn’t even hand out the drink I was walking with lol

I’ve never spilled one super badly on the floor, but I’ve dropped pitchers of sweet cream. A few weeks ago I made a pretty complicated iced pumpkin spice, finished it and tried to put the dome lid on, cup collapsed. Made it a second time, cup collapsed again, milk all over the counter. Made it a third time and had someone else out the lid on, couldn’t handle it a third time. It always happens at the worst time too

I always spill fraps. Our ice bin is on the frap counter... There's just always so much stuff on that counter and it's always wet 😭

TBH it was not actually a drink. It was skinny mocha sauce. I got a little to excited while mixing it and dropped the pitcher. Skinny mocha everywhere.

A venti chocolate almond-milk shaken espresso (during peak...). The drink dried and left behind a dried mixture of milk and malt powder because there was no time to clean it until the rush ended.

Today we had mostly hot drinks cause is chilly in MN rn and the barista on bar during the last 2 hours of my shift kept like chucking them down the DTO counter spilling some out of the hot lids which pissed me off but it was fine I just cleaned them up or got a new lid. But plz don’t do this if ur on bar 😭

edit: oh, this said drinks. every time i wear white i spill a trenta pink drink on myself. its always a pink drink. and always a trenta. every time.
