What does this mean to you?
I just assume it means they want it mixed, so I make it upside down. But today as I was doing so wondered if the customer was going to be upset about the caramel drizzle being layered on top

If I order it stirred, I expect it made as a vanilla latte with carmel drizzle, so that’s what I make for those who order it.

I take it as the customer wants a homogeneous coffee drink as opposed to a layered drink, so I just make a vanilla latte with caramel drizzle mixed in

The caramel falls to the bottom fairly quick and the thick caramel doesn't stir well so I'm sure they won't care

Stirred means the drizzle and the shots are mixed into the drink, so drizzle is melted in and not put on top. Upside down means literally made in the opposite order and do not mix in the drizzle, its a layer on the bottom of the drink.

My favorite drink was a stirred iced caramel macchiato for awhile. When I make it for myself, I stir the caramel drizzle into the hot shots and make it upside down so it doesn’t have that annoying thick layer of caramel at the bottom, but that’s just me and it’s pretty specific lol.

Wait, if the caramel macchiato is upside down, then why is the caramel even being layered on top… the whole point is for the caramel to be on the bottom so the hot shots when pulled on top can melt the caramel?

Oh I didn’t mean to come off rude, I am so sorry. I think it might just be my store that does that because we have a regular that gets upset we don’t do it that way, which made me believe thats how its supposed to be made. Ill ask my shift but in all honesty, whichever way its done it still works!
