Hi, I’m a new barista and it’s my first week. After I got done with my barista basics they put me on the drive though. Because we are understaffed, I was doing two things at once. This is my first job and I have some bad anxiety issues. I took it hard, currently taking a day off, but I didn’t expect to be up front so soon. It was very stressful, and I had to deal with a lot. I’m not sure if I should quit or pull though it, any tips on how working at the drive though will be very much appreciated.

It’s just something you get used to as time goes by. I started over a month ago, and it got easier for me. I’m still always put on DTO/window since i’m still not fast enough for front/food & bar. There are still times where I get overwhelmed and stressed, but it’s just a part of the job, sadly.

i almost quit my first few days. went home every day and cried. i hate to say it but i thought i would never be good at it, and even applied for other jobs, but i stuck it out for the benefits and honestly now i really like working here. i still get stressed and there’s things i’d change but it’s not the worst. if you don’t think it’s for you then don’t force yourself to stay, but i do recommend sticking around a bit longer to get the hang of things

I am also a green bean. I've been with the company for a month. A similar situation happened to me too. I felt so overwhelmed that I went home and cried. I seriously thought about quitting but reminded myself I needed the insurance. After a few days it got better and better. Hang in there. It happens to the best of us.

I’m looking for other jobs. It doesn’t get better; you just learn to deal with it. Corporate has showed us they don’t care & will constantly cut our labor even once this labor shortage is over and covid isn’t ravaging the world. If you’re thinking of leaving honestly do it now bc so many other companies are hiring!

I also have only been with Starbucks 2 weeks. I found another less stressful and better paying full time job so took it, and am trying to keep Starbucks as a part time, but my store manager is being a bitch about it.
