I have a couple customers that I absolutely adore. I’ll list them below, in no particular order. Names changed for privacy, but I do know them by heart.
•Trenta Cold Brew Nick. He’s a cool dude- the only issue is that he’s loud. Like- really freaking loud. Loud to the point that we have to turn down the headset to talk to him. He used to come in and get a cold brew in the morning, then come and refill it a couple hours later. When we told him he couldn’t do that anymore, per SBUX policy, he actually quieted down. It was quite sad.
•A 80-90-something year old couple that comes every day or two to get a hot grande caramel macchiato with a straw for the wife. I asked them what they do every time they go out, and joked that they were going out partying. “We haven’t done that for many years- our partying time is long passed, sweetheart.” Upon asking when his time was, he responded- “The forties.”
•The oh-so-lovely Will. He comes in almost every day as well and gets the same exact thing every time. A Trenta lemonade with light ice, A Venti Pike Place with light cream and six sugars, a cinnamon raisin bagel with two butters and warmed up, and a chocolate croissant warmed up. Always. He knows me and asks about me when I’m not there, and we always chat at window. If I’m not at window, usually he’ll ask someone to let me know he’s there and I run my little butt over to say hello. He likes to ask how my family is.
•Bethany and Millie. Bethany is a kind older woman who always takes Millie, her dog, for a ride for a pupcup and a venti chai tea latte, no water, no foam, extra hot with two Splenda. She’s always really nice and asks about me whenever I’m not there. She scared me one time because I thought that I had done something wrong to a customers order when I was at DTO, and yet there she was, smiling as she rolled up to the window. We had a good laugh about it.

We have a regular who has moved between stores a few times, just because new ones get built closer to where he lives and whatnot. He’s a mainstay of the store at this rate though, sits in the same chair and reads history books every day, always orders a tall pike with two raw sugar and cream on the side, and is super polite to everybody who works at the store. He’s friendly and talkative with a few baristas, myself included, and he’s got a million stories and opinions about historical events that are always fun to ask about.

Super nice guy, comes in during the mornings, leaves, and then comes in within fifteen minutes of close to get a short pike and just ask how everybody is. He’s very sweet.
