Is there new rules on our partner discount?(self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by reveur_
I work at a drive thru were multiple partners come to get there free beverage and food item almost daily. Randomly a partner said we can only offer the 30% discount to partners who do not work at our location. Is this a new rule or a misunderstanding? I always get my free beverage and food item at different locations.

I feel like they should be read and also communicated verbally from SM and SSVs to baristas, when it started I made sure to verbally tell the baristas so it wouldn’t be like a shock ya know

yes it changed october 4th you should’ve been informed of this new change by your ssv/sm.
there are no more free drink or food item on your days off. but you have unlimited free drinks during your shift + 30 minutes before and 30 after shift. you can have at most 7 free food items marked out a week but they must be marked out during your shift.
say you only work 2 days a week. you can mark out 7 food items one of those days and take them home with you. other than that if you go into any starbucks on the other 5 days you are not working you will only receive 30% discount. hope this helps!

There’s no communication at my store I swear. I found all this out on Reddit

every monday there’s a “weekly update” printed by your sm that has a bunch of stuff happening that week! try to look for it or ask your ssv where it lives

Only if the SM prints it. Usually I bug one of the shifts into printing it

Yes. This has been communicated multiple times (weekly updates) and there have been dozens and dozens of threads posted on this sub, including one of the *stickied* threads. Please search before posting.

Free food/drink every day was a COVID benefit, originally only supposed to last a bit over a month. Repeatedly, they extended the benefit, so to new partners (hired any time after March 2020), it probably looks like they’re taking something away… which they kinda are doing, as it’s been so long!

This. I was hired in August 2020 but my SM at the time explained the free food/drink mark out on your days off was a temporary thing and would eventually change. Partners who’ve been at Starbucks longer than me will argue otherwise…I’m just over it, I wish the company would implement some kind of system that makes it more difficult to give out the free mark outs than just pressing a button
