Hi! My store isn't doing mobile orders yet but we were all wondering how Natasha's Law would affect it!
Do you have to wait until the person ordering has arrived to bag their pastries/cakes now? What has changed for you as a store?
Thanks for easing my curiosity.

No, once a person has placed a mobile order, they have ordered so you’re not PREpackaging for direct sale - you’re packaging an order. It doesn’t matter if the person is ordering in person via POS, via mobile or via delivery services. Once a person has placed an order, you are fine to package it. The website has full allergens and our disclaimer about shared utensils and cross-contamination so you are fully covered.

Thank you, that's very helpful.

I’m not from the UK so I can’t answer but I’m genuinely curious as to what Natasha’s law is?

Natasha was a British young woman who passed away from anaphalyxis after eating a sandwich in Pret A Manger. The sandwich contained sesame seeds but that was not listed in the ingredients. Her parents have been fighting really hard for all pre-packaged foods destined for direct sale to have the list of all ingredients on them.
So if we bag a pastry before the customer is here, technically it falls under that category

So Natasha's law is where any prepackaged items must have a full ingredient list on the package or it cannot be sold. This includes not being able to prepack pastries for example. Also I am in a UK store but we don't have DT/mobiles because it's a franchise store in an airport, so can't speak to how the mobile orders are affected.

The ingredients list is on the order page for each item they select, as such the law has been followed and we should be fine to continue to pre package the item. The Atensi training should cover this and if not double check with your area manager or HR department depending on your licence
