Store closed due to water main break... (self.starbucksbaristas)

So my store is closed for a few days due to a water main break. We are being told that we will not get paid for the hours we were scheduled while closed and that if we want to get paid we have to go work at a different store. Isn't this the kind of thing cat pay covers or what? It is affecting a lot of stores so it's not like every partner who was scheduled will be able to make up the hours, not to mention maybe not everyone can even get to a store close enough to them that is still open.
Anyone have thoughts/experience with this kind of situation?

Cat pay definitely covers weather and they have to pay you for the rest of your shift if it went down while you were there, but I’m not sure about the days after.

Only cat pay that was offered to me has been during a hurricane and during Covid. Besides that, I would say this is a unique situation.

Same thing here. I went to another store and like 2hrs into my shift they had to close.
