The amount of people who chewed me out today because they ordered refresher lemonades and it wouldn’t work…and then they get free drinks bc as we all know bad behavior means free drinks. I wish I could just close the drive through window in their face

I think Starbucks needs to be more clear in their wording of “handcrafted beverages” when they put out an offer. How is a customer supposed to know what’s considered hand crafted and what’s not. I can see them assuming a tea would qualify for that offer. They should say it applies to espresso drinks only. BUT that doesn’t excuse them chewing you out or their shitty behavior. If they wanna get pissy like that, they can take up their concerns with corporate, you know the ones who put the dam offer out there. People just like to complain so they get free stuff. It’s ridiculous. Sorry you had to deal with that.

Oh that’s totally what I mean by Starbucks needs to do better! I meant corporate Starbucks needs to do better. lol The ones making the drinks aren’t the same ones that send out these offers, but they’re the ones that get all the crap when something about the offer is worded weird or not clear. I think we were saying the same thing, just maybe worded differently. Lol

That’s really strange because usually when Starbucks says handcrafted beverages it means any drink that goes to bar. I went to my app and double checked the reward and it does indeed say handcrafted beverages, but it doesn’t say it’s a bogo, it says buy one get one half off. I quit Starbucks a few months ago so I’m not sure what you’ve been told, but I can mobile order two refreshers and get the reward, which may be why customers are confused. It sounds like on your end they said/made it only available for espresso beverages, but in the app it works for all of them. I also tried it on teas and fraps and it gave me the coupon. Sounds like corporate messed up.

Oh I didn’t try to use the coupon today or anything. I was just saying based on the main comment of the thread that if the coupon was actually meant for espresso only drinks, they should specify that in the coupon so people know more specifically what they can use it for.

Yes, but the coupon was meant for all handcrafted beverages (anything that goes to bar), but it seems like some baristas can only use it for espresso drinks, which is corporates mistake.

Technically that is a BOGO. It just stands for “buy one, get one” then you insert the deal. In this case it’s BOGO half off.

I’ve only ever heard of BOGO meaning buy one, get one free. Wikipedia says BOGO is short for buy one, get one free, but lingo doesn’t really matter much as long as it’s the same coupon.

i heard a customer reading off her phone in the drive thru that it was “grande handcrafted” beverages, so i think it’s specifically grande espresso drinks. i was told that if they ask about the promotion to give them a half off second drink anyway, even if they got venti teas or something because we have no idea how the mobile app works but we’d rather not stand in the drive thru window and explain it to every single customer.
