Is the ASU benefit worth taking advantage of? (self.starbucksbaristas)

I’ve definitely been looking into it, but it seems like one of those ‘too good to be true’ scenarios. Also, is it worth committing yourself to the company that long and meeting the weekly hour requirements on top of all that schoolwork?

Hands down yes. A degree is a degree. ASU is a respected university. If you’re going to go to college and think you can handle going to school online, you might as well graduate debt free. I was suspicious initially too but it’s not too good to be true. And if you want to leave Starbucks before your degree finishes you can always transfer your credits to another institution

I personally did it. Honestly, just go to a local school in your state and save the money. They reimburse you only what the federal loans don't cover, up to 5000ish per school year. I did like the school and the support that was offered, but Starbucks really didn't do much to assist me outside of signing up.

Mine is 100% free besides books. They recently began paying all of the tuition upfront so now there’s no need for reimbursement

Only if you can go for free, and get a degree worthwhile, such as STEM track, otherwise your resume will just end up in the trash. The best bet is a local school, such as a community college.
