You have to shake your refreshers (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by Responsible-Will6040
I know it’s a pain in the ass sometimes and especially when it’s busy… but you have to shake your refreshers. I used to not shake them when I first started, but two years later I’m ordering refreshers from other stores and when they’re not shaken they literally don’t taste the same; it’s not cold at the bottom, the ingredients aren’t infused, and it just proves your store to be lazy tbh. I’ve worked at stores from high volume drive thrus to cafes and taking a few extra seconds to shake a drink is a lot better than having someone dissatisfied for something they paid quite a bit for, and if they come inside it will take more time to remake it and screw up your queue than it would’ve to just do it right in the first place. Obviously, this extends to pink drinks, dragon drinks, violet drinks, and star drinks as well. Way too many times has the barista at the window handed me an unshaken pink drink expecting me not to notice.

If people are gonna be waiting a while for their drinks you might as well make it a good drink and have them somewhat satisfied. This applies to teas as well. Shaking aerated it and makes it taste better. One of my pet peeves is people not following standard within reason. I almost never cut corners and am still able to bust out drinks quickly. If I can do it so can you.

I really looked forward to my last iced tea lemonade. After I drove off and took a sip, it was terrible. It was actually warm at the bottom. Flavorless. I threw it away and haven't ordered one since. It costs too much and ruined something I was looking forward to. It's just lazy - there's no other explanation.

Are people not making them in the shakers? It's called a shaker

Way too often I see people just measure in the shaker and then pour it in the cup... they think they're being smart by saving 6 seconds.

Bro just shake it or put it in the foaming pitcher to blend it takes a few seconds and depending on how well sealed your shakers can get you can do it one handed. The only person I don't shake teas or refresher for is a regular who asks for no water and literally doesn't care.

Why in the hell would anyone ever put a refresher in a foaming blender
amalia13lightning 2 points 1y ago
i put my own pink drinks in the cold foam blender, it doesn't start separating as fast that way. but doing that with a customer's drink sounds like an interesting write-up

I just mean cause it would be better than not shaking it but I've never actually done that

We use the cloud foam setting for our no ice matchas.
