Okay so I’ve already tried looking through this Reddit page to see if anyone else has asked this but I couldn’t find anything. So basically I’ve been getting a few orders where they request their refresher be blended (like a frap). Cool, no problemo. Except no matter how many times the other baristas try to show me how to put it in the pos I get so confused! They want it put into the system as a Frappuccino would because I guess it gives them more time to make it and it also charges the right amount. I obviously have no issue with this I just cannot remember how to input it! If anyone can tell me step by step that would be great so I can practice inputting it on my downtime. Also I know that you have to put it in a certain way for a trenta size so if you know that please share as well!

I do a refresher and do a custom direction to have it double blended.
If they wanted a blended strawberry lemonade that would be different, but if they're asking for a blended refresher.. I'll give them a refresher chucked in the blender

See that’s what I have been putting in but they say that it’s wrong and all I can remember is that they want me to put it in as a creme frap with the refresher base but I think there’s more steps that I’m missing

I’ve never heard of that being a thing. There is literally no charge for blending a beverage. It doesn’t add any other ingredients it is just an extra step and the drink is STILL a refresher.

Weird. Okay I’ll just have to ask again for clarification. From what they told me it’s because it gives them more time to make it because it’s more steps? Idk I’ve been told I’m doing it wrong

Like a previous comment said if it were a menu item like the blended strawberry lemonade then you would charge them for that but because it’s just a drink with a custom direction then there is no extra charge. I’d honestly just ignore them and just charge for what you feel is right. If they’re trying to charge for blending a beverage that’s just petty.
EDIT: okay after reading back through it what seems like is happening is that your fellow baristas are being overly literal and wanting the refreshes built just like Frappuccino’s when blended (including the creme base for texture). You can recommend this to customers but I guarantee most of the time the customer will not know the difference between a refresher made like a frap and a refresher just put into the blender.

When I’m ringing, I usually just put it in as a refresher, custom direction to double blend. But on bar if I got that I would personally do a lil less liquid, and add some cream base (even just a lil) to help it blend better

man i'm a new barista but even i know that you shouldn't put the order in like that. you ring it up as a refresher and go to the custom directions and hit double blended. don't charge people for something that they aren't ordering

The only reason my SM said to ring it up as a Frappuccino is if they want cream base since there's no cream base button

Just normal with double blended. It doesn’t matter if the person adds crème base. Starbucks makes a ton of money and you aren’t gonna get a raise by charging people for it

Yeah I don’t care about charging extra for anything it’s just what everyone’s been telling me to put 🤷🏻♀️ if I don’t they get mad so idk I’m not gonna fight it I was just hoping for some clarification…I’ve only been working for 2 weeks🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️

If they order a refresher they'll get a refresher. We can stick an AskMe or hit Double Blended, but it should not change how it's made.
Make it in the shaker, dump it in a blender, blend. No base, it doesn't come with that.
