doesn’t anyone know how to enroll for the health/dental insurance? i thought i became eligible in october, but could not figure out how to enroll. i read something that you need 240 hours or something but that there’s also a deadline. i would call the help desk but their hours don’t work with my schedule! please help :(

Mysbuxben

If you're a brand new hire, it's 90 days after the first day of the month after you were hired (unless you were hired on the first of the month). So if you were hired on, say, June 12th, your eligibility would begin counting on July 1st, making you eligible for benefits on October 1st. You have to average 20hrs a week even in this probationary period.

Once you are eligible, you go to mysbuxben and sign up. Should be a huge thing saying you're eligible and where to click to get started. If you missed the window for first enrollment and/or open enrollment, you might be SOL and/or you may only be able to sort it out by calling on one of your breaks/days off.

Ooou this helps me too. I was hired sept 23 so i would be eligible january?

It would start counting the 90 days from 1 Oct, so yeah, you would become eligible in January!

it's also **very important** to note that no matter when you become eligible, you will still ALWAYS need to re-enroll during open enrollment in Aug/Sept as that selects your health insurance for the upcoming year - in this case, it doesn't apply to you right now, but after you become eligible and sign up in January, you'll need to remember to do it all again in August!

No one explains this bs to me lol

This is the problem that the main subreddit, this subreddit, and the Discord server attempt to alleviate :) communication is awful in the company, so the best thing we can do is share our knowledge with each other and try to keep everyone in the loop!

Besides, in America, the health system is made to be confusing and impossible to navigate, even through an employer. No shame in asking for help! Fortunately the benefits advisors through mysbuxben are super helpful as well, if you ever need to reach out to them.

You get a huge packet in the mail and multiple emails when you get eligible.
