Being a Borrowed partner (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by lcrow99
Okay what is it when you are going to be a borrowed partner that the partners at the store are often catty and shitty to you. I don’t get it. I go out of my way to make borrowed partners feel welcome and being one my self is a very different story. I dunno any thoughts?

In my experience it seems to be a question of the store's internal culture... I've worked at stores where everyone is pretty chill and things run smoothly and also at ones where a lot of the partners and/or the SM love drama or going maverick on standards (when I moved districts, I had multiple people at my new store tell me to avoid taking shifts at a certain store because it was always unpleasant). So it's probably not a reflection on you.

I was only a borrowed partner once, about a year and a half into working for the siren. Rather than putting me on a stationary position that’s close to the same at all stores, they decided to put me on customer support. Now this wouldn’t have been that bad except their store design was completely different from my home store, they had a code to access their back room (which I kept forgetting), and they would get frustrated with me and snap anytime I asked a question about anything. I felt like an unwanted green bean all over again. It was horrible.

I just worked and eight as a narrowed partner feeling like I was back in high school not at fucking work. It made me so uncomfortable. The second my shift was I’ve to clocked out
