Just curious, what’s the standard for an undertow? (self.starbucksbaristas)

I understand the little bit of half and half, with the espresso poured over the back of a spoon, but no one has ever told me the recipe. One or two shots? No syrup right?

I think technically the "standard" is a bit of half and half with 1 pump vanilla and 1 shot. It's not a menu item though so there isn't an official recipe and I've never had anyone order one (but it is a favorite of the morning crew in our store - tastiest way to quickly get caffeine into you at 4:30am haha). If someone orders it I would just clarify exactly how they want it with them.

there's no standard because it's not an official drink! i was always told it's whatever milk you want, whatever syrup you want, as many shots as you want. i usually did 2 or 3

Second that. There’s no standard for a drink that isn’t standard. If there’s no recipe card for it then there’s no standard and it’s up to the customer to know what they want, or the barista to make good suggestions.
