We were down 3 people to start. Mobiles were turned off and café was closed. Bless. However, attitudes from customers were real today. I guess they think that just because we have a long drive thru line *their* order won’t take long. Like man, you decided to proceed to go in line, a long line, and you’re mad at me that you had to wait for overpriced sugar?
Customer comes to the window, she already had attitude with her order for literally no reason. She pulls out her phone but I couldn’t hear what she said because the customer at the speaker box started ordering, even though I told them to wait (three times). When I asked what she said, she told me she was just giving me her phone to scan. So I scan her phone and she still had the same balance since there was nothing on the gift card she was using. I told her the total again and she got real nasty with me saying she told me she was using a reward. I explained that I asked her what she said and she didn’t tell me and a customer was talking while she said it the first time. She kept giving me attitude so I told her the attitude was unnecessary. I move on to take the next person’s order and first she asked for a manager then she asked my name and said, “u/justkeepswimmingswim, right?” I said, “yup!” And made sure to give her the correct spelling.
Just because we’re servicing people doesn’t mean they can treat us however they’d like and I’m just about done with humans. I work a farmer’s market once a week and it’s the same shit there too.
✨over it✨
Corporate: these are the abusive monsters you created. Pay us more if you expect us to work short staffed and allow us to be treated like this from asshole customers.
