Sounds like someone mad they got caught trying to use someone else’s numbers (whether stolen or given to him)
Puzzleheaded-Job548129 points1y ago
Asking where they’re from is just being friendly! I genuinely love talking to partners from out of town or just seeing if we know the same people etc.
I would have immediately asked to see his ID and told him my SM is strict about the rule 🤷🏻♀️ You gonna be rude to me, then I’ll follow standard to the letter.
terriblescreenwriter57 points1y ago
I know, I should’ve ID’d from the start. I was not trying to be accusatory, was genuinely curious because we get partners from all over the country.
Puzzleheaded-Job54813 points1y ago
I totally get it man! I usually don’t ask for ID, most of the time they aren’t lying anyway. I’m just petty when people, especially other partners are rude.
amalia13lightning8 points1y ago
If you remember their name, ask your SM. Your SM can text the other managers in the district to find out who's in charge of him and tell him to act right
blondiebarista43 points1y ago
That’s suspicious
Haunting-Sink306333 points1y ago
Wow that’s rude. We ask people all the time where they’re from..there’s no way he was a partner. He’d know that hat we no longer get free mark outs on our days off…I wish we could do something about the stupid people trying I get away with that…like when ppl were going around tryin to get our partner numbers off the receipts…why people??
mckanoot7 points1y ago
Wait you can get partner numbers off receipts?
nervousextrovert16 points1y ago
Not anymore LOL
Haunting-Sink30634 points1y ago
Yeah, our partner numbers used to show on the receipt when you’re assigned to the til. And people were asking for them. It was a big TikTok thing. We caught on, so at my store we would use a permanent marker and cross out our numbers before handing the receipt out. Lol
nervousextrovert5 points1y ago
yeah I remember that! I would cut the top of the receipt off 😂😂😂

Sussy baka✨

Well that **connection** didn't go smooth.
I thought they changed markouts to only at the store you worked before or after work.
GerbilFeces11 points1y ago
They only changed the rules for when youre allowed to use them, instead of the system itself. In fact, im like 99% sure that the markout will always work if the numbers are valid. Im not sure if its standard, but during training shifts, my SM has us mark out all the drinks we practice making, so ive had a bunch of shifts where i marked out like 10+ drinks lol. And in the case of using numbers at not your home store, im pretty sure the system only checks if the partner numbers are valid (probably for the convenience of guest employees). Abusers are punished retroactively, ive heard.
reclusivegiraffe6 points1y ago
yup, that’s right. super easy to abuse
gjrcia8 points1y ago
i hope you asked for their ID. what a dick!
TrueFondue6 points1y ago
i got scared seeing my first three numbers, but thankfully i had a different experience for marking out today lol! sounds like someone trying to use someone else’s markouts
bigghostb00ty5 points1y ago
I have a lady that comes up to the register, she’s a CNA at the nearby hospital. She says “I have a partner’s number” and last time she came in I was on POS and got to see her disappointed face when I asked for her ID. She left.
46patisse5 points1y ago
Yep, fuck him
AdIll79463 points1y ago
Remember that asking for IDs is policy so if you come across a barista who gives you shit for doing so, they’re mostly likely not a barista, or they’re just awful. You’re doing what you got to do!
terriblescreenwriter2 points1y ago
I know I definitely will from now on, almost a year with the company and never had an experience like that with a “partner”
FfierceLaw2 points1y ago
We don’t get our mark outs in stores that we don’t work at anymore, at least with regard to food and beverage. The update said nothing about our weekly pound of coffee ☕️
xiew1 points1y ago
Can’t use your mark out at other stores now anyway.
Voxxyvoo1 points1y ago
Incredibly sus. Partners are usually happy to tell what store they’re from if only for barista solidarity
Mcnugget_unlimited-3 points1y ago
Eh might be having a hard day you never know plus it’s not required to state what store you work at… I never understood why a lot of baristas asked that. I was always happy to share but not everyone wants too.
