i got called in today to cover the remaining hours of shift for another partner that had a doctor’s appointment. as soon as i clock in, i get put on bar, and the first 20 mins were great. then i started making a grande mocha with no whip, and that’s when the first machine broke 🥲
so we switch to hot and cold bar. 30 mins later, the second machine broke
i made pumpkin spice lattes using pike. i open the rest of the week and when we called to fix our machines, they said it’d be two business days 🥲. pray for me this weekend

If our main items are broken I don’t think any starbucks should be open but corporate overlords could give less of a shit it all the syrups were out of stock too.

we recently changed our hours from 6am-6pm due to being shortstaffed, and we still don’t have enough people to close. our regional manager refuses to let us close our store earlier than 6pm 🥲

Are you a corporate store? 2 days for fixing a mastrena sounds ridiculous. They’re priority 1, or 24 hours, if for some reason they didn’t give you priority 1, you can escalate it yourself to priority 1 yourself.

yeah, we’re a corporate store. our store is older compared to the other stores in my area. i’m pretty sure my shift manager is trying to get priority. there’s noooo way we can make it through this weekend with both of them down

Anything should be a priority 1 if it affects business. If one mastrena is down, it’s enough to qualify, but two! I would just keep arguing that it’s going to affect business and sales because you won’t be able to sell anything with espresso in it (I wouldn’t even be replacing it with coffee, let the customers complain that you can’t sell anything with espresso)

i’m definitely gonna bring it up and see where we’re at tomorrow if we don’t have any information on when a new one will be coming in! we were in the middle of a rush when it all happened, so everyone including my shift manager were all frazzled
