I refused To vote after awhile. It became a popularity contest and even though a few of us busted our backs, the more “popular” partners always got it.

At my store I feel people to do think about who is going above and beyond. Everyone who wins, wins for a reason and I feel like when I talk with my partners about who they’re voting for we seem to have similar thoughts. Maybe start chatting casually about POQ with people and gather feedback on how people think about who they vote for. I feel your frustration and it’s valid. Once your a shift you might get it - shifts win a lot in at my store because we really need their leadership. Might also be worth a casual chat with your SM to be like “one of my goals is to win POQ, what do you think I could do more of to catch my partners attention?” They might have good advice for you.

Tbh, a guy who got fired at my store for handing out hundreds in drinks a week at night won 3 quarters in a row after because half the store went to high-school with him. Then after that it was basically which ever girl was prettiest.

Kinda bummed myself out since I wanted to win at least once but hey, who needs it anyways. Just a silly pin

Lots of things feel like “popularity” and a “contest” at sbux lately either on purpose or coincidence. Idk what to say, other than your worth does not depend on potq. You are amazing. Yes, recognition and credit feels good. But i would offer, working at starbucks or any customer service, is a kind of job to love others to the best ability without expecting or asking for anything in return. Thus, whatever you deserve, or think you deserve, will come to you at the right time.

I think people do for a majority think about who they’re voting for, but there’s also the issue where our morning crew is made up of more than half our total employees, so it’s mainly people who work in the morning that win at my store. I’m a night crew worker and the night crew sadly gets overlooked most times

Yup just popularity unfortunately. I have never recieved one in the 3yrs I've been working there and well I've gotten over the fact I might never get one and it's ok. I always vote for someone who is a good worker though.

After this past one I am quite certain my manager chooses who wins despite the whole voting thing. I’m gonna be honest, nobody voted for the person who won. I’ve been at the same store for 2 years and people who are pretty new have gotten it….so doesn’t feel great

We secretly check the votes as they come in before our SM counts them. I've won twice, but I noticed that I was the only one to vote for this one girl. She's not great, but she has come such a long way since starting and her improvement has blown me away. This quarter is was mostly me vs my bean lol. I wish she had gotten it.
