Last sunday on DTO/ window (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by Coffee_MomSter
someone ordered tall iced Matcha green tea latte in venti cup with extra ice and extra oatmilk. She also order 60 pumps of pumpkin spice syrup ( just the syrup) 🤦‍♀️ at the window:

Shift Leader: Hi, so technically we can't sell just syrup. But just for today can sell you but we have to charge you price of 2 vent is pumpkin spice latte.

Customer: How much is that?

Shift leader: Around $10.00

Customer: but last time they only charge me .60 cents for 60 pumps of Pumpkin syrup.
( 60 pumps is equivalent of 1 grande cup )

Shift leader: maybe not in this store. L

Then, my Shift lead let me continue my DTo transaction with the customer. While giving her drink the Tall iced matcha green tea latte.

Customer: can you add more oat milk it's not full. I said extra oat milk.

Me: but your order is tall.

My barista partner on DTO told her “ we can add milk but we have to charge venti” is that ok?

Customer left and and she was so mad.

1. Where exactly did the customer go to get 60 pumps of syrup for just .60 cents? They are using an entire cup of syrup to use at home and it will actually cost us money and drain our resources. I know Starbucks can afford it, but it's ridiculous that this customer got away with shit like this
2. Tall drink with EXTRA ice AND EXTRA milk? What exactly is left in the drink if the cup is filled with ice? I'm so glad you guys were going to charge her for a venti because orders like that make no sense.

I would have filled that venti cup full of ice and then gently poured my tall beverage over it. I should only need a bonus slash of oat at that point.

I mean starbucks had the money for this, but I don’t want to encourage those sort of crappy people to come back.
