Some questions about ordering (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by Hot-Froyo
What's the maximum number of drinks you can order at one time in-person? I think there's a limit on the app but I don't know what that is.

Also, these iced water orders (and buying nothing else and no tips) are getting out of control. I had 1 person order 9 trenta iced waters, and personally I think that's ridiculous. Is there any limit on iced water orders and if so, what is it?

Some stores don’t let you do more than a grande so maybe that’ll stop them

TELL ME ABOUT IT. We have these group of kids that consistently come in multiple times a day, asking for 8, 10, 15 large iced waters. During rushes it's SO annoying and they are insanely impatient too 🙄

And I doubt they ever tip! 🙄

Absolute most drinks we’ve ever done was around 60. I closed the cafe and let every customer know through the drive thru it may take some time to get their drinks out. It was so many refreshers, it was the one time I let my bars get away without shaking any of them. Straight into the cup and out the door.

no because forreal. this happens so much at my store with stupid refreshers and there are so many “supportive partners” on here that bashed the living hell out of me for not shaking a refresher. a refresher out of tens of other refreshers on the bar already, and an angry sm and shift on the headset talking about how we need to get drive times down

Honestly, if it’s super busy and my bars are stressed and tired I DO NOT CARE if they don’t shake a couple of refreshers. I even taught most of them to pour straight into the cup and put the shaker lid and top and give it a small little shake. If it’s slow, yes, please shake them properly - but refreshers are way too popular, there’s no way to really batch them, and our customers are gonna keep coming back whether they’re shaken or not lol.

29 is the largest drink order I’ve ever done. He came in with a list and was like “how long is this going to take?” I gave him a 20 minute estimate and he came back with a giant box and this drink carrier board (think cotton candy board at like a baseball game). It was terrible.
