Deciding whether to return or not (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by MemesandSpeech
I quit 3 months ago because of the **CONSTANT** miscommunication between me and my manager. I went on to get another barista job which turned out to be; not so good as I thought it would be for a FT. **(Constant stuff rearranged in a different position, we are constantly hiring, No manager at all on Sunday; meaning us barista / workers have to look out the store. etc.)** Because of this, I went to a nearby SB and asked if they are hiring.

Thinking back, the reason I missed SB was cause of the connection with your coworkers and stories we be sharing to one another. That and I have been thinking of going back to college to get a bachelor's degree (ASU ONLINE.)

With that being said, should I return? Cause honestly I kind of miss it and won't be back in my old store.

Have an honest sit down with your potential new manager before you quit your current place. Managers make or break most jobs, and having a mature "I think I made a mistake quitting instead of transferring" conversation will help you feel out all you need to know. I'm an ancient rehire from 2003 and while there are plenty of downsides, I'm really enjoying being back.

That's true but honestly I also feel like leaving the former district was a plus for me. Everyone from other stores knew how I would go above and would take advantage of my kindness to persuade me to stay extra or do their job. **(Manager would be in the back because of "Stress / anxiety" and right when my time is up, they would persuade me to stay cause the other person called "Sick" <-- BS. I knew the partners that would CONSTANTLY call fake sick last minute and won't find coverage nor the manager and still be employed.)**

Ah... I didn't know you couldn't transfer to a different district so you would have had to quit to make that move.
