Server pump springs (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by demigirlhailee
Hey everyone! I used to work as a partner back in 2017/2018, and just got hired as a lead at a grocery store franchise location. Already I've been able to fix the Master a from pulling shots in 4 seconds back up to 18-24, and teach my baristas proper sequencing.

However, we've been having a bit of trouble with our server pumps. I've had to go through and reassemble all of them with the right spouts and gaging collars ("chokers", as I call them), but they're still not always springing back up after being pumped. It's not the biggest deal, as I've ensued they are dispensing the correct proportions, but it's still annoying. if anyone has any tips on what I might be overlooking or other fixes, Id really appreciate it!

Hmm, maybe see if you can order one of those little packs of new O rings and gaskets. It might fix the problem to put new rings on the bottom of the--I don't know what to call it--shaft? Part you push down?

this was it exactly! the other baristas have a habit of taking the pumps apart to clean without knowing what all the pieces are so they get lost. I actually didn't know about the o ring until I got new chai and CBS mocha pumps in and saw it on there. now all the pumps are working beautifully! thank you!

Kinda sounds like there’s a missing plastic washer that goes on the very bottom of the piece that the spring goes on. Similar to the other comment. Probably just order the backup gasket kit and see if any come in that.
