I Just Realized We Lost 6 People This Past Month (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by luvduvbunny
I don't know how my store will survive these next 2 months since they are the holidays and plenty of customers go crazy on those days. I'm going on my leave of absence before Thanksgiving, so I'm glad I won't have to deal with this madness.

What are the feasible options for our store?

1. Adjust hours so that we actually have enough people for shifts? I personally like the idea of being open from 7-3, but may not be ideal for people who need a certain amount of hours and work certain times.
2. Temporarily close our store so we can properly train people? I understand that people may have to be transferred to another store, which isn't ideal

I think it is ridiculous if we stayed open from 5:00-8:00 pm since we are down so many people. There would only be like 4 people in the morning and 3-4 people in the afternoon/evening.

At my store we’ve lost over half the people that my SM hired in the last couple weeks. One thing that we’re doing is adjusting hours so that we have enough people on the floor, so I think that would really help.

I really really hope our manager adjusts hours because there is no way we will survive peak with 3-4 people. If people are upset that they won’t get their pumpkin spiced latte or Frappuccino at 5 am, then they just need to suck it up.

our store was “temporarily” closed because of staffing. we had a staff of 22- 5 SSVs and 17 baristas (which is not as much as it may seem. 10 of those 17 baristas had extremely limited availability). we are now down to 2 shifts and 6 baristas left at our home store. it’s about to be 3 baristas total bc i know me and 2 others are transferring to a different store next month so. good luck to them tho
