Hi guys! I was recently told that im on the short list for a shift position at my store that i have to interview for! I was just wondering if anyone has any tips or insight on what the SSV interview process is like or what I can do to better prepare! Thank you!

They are looking for moments of you coaching others! Think of some of those times and go into detail, they are also looking for you to reflect on how you felt the coaching went. Hope this helps! Good luck !

Thank you so much! That’s really helpful! I am a barista trainer and we’ve just got a bunch of new transfers so i definitely have a lot of examples to go off of with that! Thanks again!

Just be honest! Being a shift is really difficult some days so use the skills and knowledge you have to answer the questions honestly. If you’re on the short list it means they already believe you can do it!

Go into my learning and look for career progression modules. They have a section dedicated to interview tips, and it has some seriously good advice for what the interviewers are looking for as far as responses to questions goes. That is if you can without going over in labor or overtime lol

You can also access the interview questions on the partner hub. Most of the questions are about coaching in different aspects. I recommend writing down the coaching moments after each shift so you have a good description that is fresh from the moment they happen.
PRO TIP. Your interviewer will be very impressed if you can provide examples of a barista(you) successfully coaching your SSVs. Coaching your peers as a SSV is one of the hardest parts of the job. So if you can show your already doing it. You will look very well prepared for the promotion. Good luck! :)
