It’s a tiny amount of liquid for sure, but I still hate the billion people who order a trenta of the base every day and force me to restock the açaí every two seconds

there’s a happy medium yall :’(
haydensidun 37 points 1y ago
Yes, and that happy medium is called a grande!

Nearly everything at Starbucks is a ripoff 😂 I’d hate spending $5 for a small overpriced drink from a sticky cup.
drinkliquidclocks 33 points 1y ago
I don't think it's a ripoff as customers choose to buy it. Fruity energy drinks aren't really a concept made up but Starbucks
horriblyIndecisive 30 points 1y ago
I think they are overpriced but the dilution makes sense considering how concentrated they are imo

I agree, it’s a kiddy drink with caffeine, the beverage equivalent of vape juice
SelloutDude 8 points 1y ago
That….is…..accurate. 😃
ItzBoogieMan 25 points 1y ago
I mean they are more concentrated tho
anitasdoodles 10 points 1y ago
I always make these light ice and light water. Cause fuck Starbucks.

In a technical sense, they are diluted. But the water we add is the intended way to make the drink. We also add water to make the lemonades. It’s diluting the concentrate, but the end result is the desired Starbucks lemonade. So I don’t think *that* makes it a ripoff.

I still think basically everything we sell is a ripoff though. The refreshers do require the most effort and don’t allow for sequencing, so they should have a marginal up charge at least because they require full attention when making them. Also the freeze dried fruit is actually a pretty expensive ingredient, so that does have something to do with it as well. Even when people omit it, it’s already baked into the price. Although, either way, everything we sell is more expensive than is reasonable. Even our black drip coffee is like 3x the price a normal place would charge. But as long as people are willing to pay it, nothings gonna get any cheaper.

idk, we use extremely concentrated juice for it. I wouldn’t be worried about it, cause you don’t control what people want to buy, and starbucks as a company is trying to make things last as long/be as efficient as they can
zydr8te 6 points 1y ago
CRCF stupid lame rip off, and MCCF too
shikiP 3 points 1y ago
Its not anymore diluted than before. Its highly concentrated. Do you want to drink a highly concentrated juice?

I am indifferent to it. A refresher here is cheaper than a boba. The good boba places around me are like 7-9 dollars.

i think they kinda are. like i just go to the store and buy juice and coconut milk and make it myself now that they've taken away our mark outs.... i'm not giving them any of my money for that.
4filth 1 points 1y ago
i mean not really? just because i don’t think something isn’t a good use of my money doesn’t make it a “ripoff”
Beardzesty 0 points 1y ago
Look up how much acai costs... they are paying exactly what they should
