New supervisor, closing for the first time- I need help… (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by Machokeabitch

Can someone who is also a supervisor help me out? My training was incredibly brief and I’ve asked my peers too many question already and don’t want to keep bugging them. I get confused when/what to count for the pulls and also pulling out the monies and counting them, entering it in the system, what money goes in what bag, etc. I should’ve taken physical notes… could someone brief me real quick in a clear concise manner?

Hey totally okay! So for closing pulls you’re pulling pastries, count all the ones NOT going out today. For money I do it a little different but it works for me, I use our till counter and add the numbers it gives me on a calculator and then subtract my till float to see how much money I need to put into the deposit bag, for example my tills need to have $200 in them so let’s say I add up all the money from the end of the night and in total I have $345 in my till, I take out $145 to put in the deposit bag so my till is back at $200 for the morning. So yeah that money goes in the deposit bags, they’re red and I think they say deposit on them, there’s a bunch of info you need to fill out on them like store number and date. And money in tip jars go in tip bags, those ones just say tips right on the bag, hope this helps!

holy hell, i’m still a green bean and have no clue how to do any of what you mentioned but the way you explained everything made it sound super simple. OP asked for concise and you delivered 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
