Respectful Way to Quit? (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by Good-Criticism2400
So I’ve been at my current store for about five months, but I’m up for an amazing job opportunity within the field I went to college for which would be a huge career maker for me if I were to get it. I’ve been told it’s highly likely that I’ll get it, but I’m still waiting to hear back which will be this week. In the meantime, I’ve been thinking through my hypotheticals of the best way to leave Starbucks. My manager has overall been really great, and I want to leave on the best terms possible because of that, and also in case I ever need to work for the siren again. This job understands that I’ll need to give notice, but I think they’re expecting more of a 2 week notice rather than 3 weeks, which I know I might be expected by my manager to do since our schedules are given to us two weeks in advance. I know 2 weeks is probably the most I can ask from this new job, so any tips? All answers welcomed, I need ideas! :)

not a very helpful answer but if you and your manager are good terms like it seems, just explain this to them! personally i’d wait to know if i got the new job before i quit, but i would just talk to my manager if i were u!

good luck!:)
