we have our mobiles turned off today (self.starbucksbaristas)

one of our espresso machines is down so we finally were able to convince our manager to turn off mobile orders and the difference is night and day! we have time to actually talk to customers, to recommend drinks and ask about their day. we aren’t running around doing 10 thousand things at once. there aren’t any lobby customers staring at me over the bar waiting for me to complete their orders.

it’s just unspeakably better. i wish it could be like this all the time.

One time we had both of our espresso machines down and one of our blenders was broken. We were also out of venti iced cups. My manager refused to turn of mobiles and were a drive thru store🙃

yeah, i would say our order volume is pretty much split evenly though. half drive through and half mobile/delivery/cafe orders
