why does nobody know about the spoon!!(self.starbucksbaristas)

been a partner since 2016, this is just a silly little thing that bothers me. drinks that come with whipped cream (WM, M, PSL, CDL) are not suppose to come with foam. i’ll be honest, idk if it’s still the standard anymore but i still teach it to everyone because it makes better quality drinks. i know we don’t do thick syrup drinks extra hot anymore but this bothers me so much!! i know it’s silly and everyone complains it takes too long but (not to sound too cocky) i’m one of the fastest bar partners and am always on bar, i always do it. anyways, not a big deal just bothers me

I always use the spoon for WC drinks or anything with a modifier for foam.
However I’m also: 1. An older partner (118xxxx) 2. A former WM drinker and hated getting foam in addition to my whip. (I also stir anything with a sauce instead of a syrup) 3. Someone who hates foam. So when you say “no foam”, you got it.
I’m with ya here.

I question this because Like five or six years ago BUX changed the way we pour and that “all” drinks were now free pours. Ive gone by that rule since returning a month or so ago.

We are supposed to do syrup/sauce mixed drinks extra hot still, so the peppermint mocha. Who knows if that’s gonna happen.

Oooo! I had no idea. Is this a thing?? So just if the drink has both a syrup And a sauce? I love little tricks like this that the older baristas teach me, including holding back foam with a spoon.

Yup. I was bugging a shift about my white mochas separating and she told me back in the day anything with a sauce was made extra hot, but we no longer do that. We do still make anything with a sauce and syrup together extra hot, which comes up a lot with holiday beverages.
It’s my first holiday season, so it was a good tip for me.

it is standard but i think with the understaffing and crazy turnovers, the newer partners just aren’t being taught as such

partners are lazy or don’t know any better because training is shit now
